From Series: "Dwell: God With Us"
Each of us longs for the presence of Jesus, whether we can identify it or not. Throughout Scripture, we experience a God who gave everything to fulfill that longing: to be present with and in us. The Advent season marks the four weeks before Christmas as a season of preparation and anticipation for celebrating the miracle of God present with us through the birth of Jesus. We step more fully into the experience of longing for God and embrace the wonder and mystery of him giving himself again and again to us. We’ll trace this thread of God’s presence among his people from the Israelite’s tabernacle-tent in the wilderness to the splendor of David and Solomon’s temple. We then turn to the miraculous, spectacular, subversive, and beautiful birth of God into the world in Jesus. The movement of God’s presence then fills and empowers every believer and collectively builds the Church into the body of Christ himself!
