“Life is deep and simple, and what our society gives us is shallow and complicated.”
– (Mister) Fred Rogers
As vacation schedules wind down, school begins for students across our city, and the natural rhythms of fall take root, I hope that you’ll press into the practices, people, and events that can help shape a life with Jesus and our local expression of his church. There are both familiar and new rhythms and expressions that, whether you currently feel totally involved or only partially connected, will push us toward simplicity and new depth together!
– Tim Osborn
Even when we’re looking for it, it’s often only with hindsight that we know God was at work in our lives. We need one another to help us develop soul-attentiveness and to mirror back to us how Jesus is speaking and where his invitation is now.
Triads are intentional relationships where three people gather and set aside sacred time once a month to talk, listen to one another, and witness God at work.

Through prayer we can begin and live a conversational relationship with Jesus that not only changes us, but changes the world around us. We are continuing our Tuesday rhythm of prayer & fasting and exploring new tools and formats that help us build a life of prayer individually and corporately.
Every week we have the beautiful opportunity to gather to worship Jesus as king, speak and sing God’s Word to one another, and be a living picture of Jesus’s body to our city and world.
Gather in-person and online every Sunday at 10:00 am.
Through the summer, we met for Neighborhood Suppers, a fun, casual meal to meet people in our part of the city and reconnect. Starting in October, Neighborhood Communities will continue these once-a-month gatherings to connect, pray together, and have intentional conversations about following Jesus.
Be on the list for one of the seven Neighborhood Communities meeting across the Portland/Vancouver metro area.
The start of a school year is full of potential, along with hopes, dreams, fears, and unknowns. As the Mosaic Youth community of students, parents, and adult leaders, we want to start the school year playing, dreaming, and praying together as we look forward to exploring and following Jesus together!

Second Half Community
The second half of life is the longest, and brings fresh questions, soul-grappling, and new quests for meaning. It spans decades and seasons, and statistically includes the the ‘happiest’ years and most ‘fruitful’ decades.
In living your life of seeking Jesus — whether that’s been a day or decades — you have something unique to contribute to the Mosaic community and people all around you. Jesus is calling you to a vibrant life that does just that.
This fall, we’ll begin to gather and build into the relationships and personal development as disciples that will give us tools to mentor the next generations and make a Kingdom impact on people in our area.
We envision strong, healthy, grace-filled families that are centered on Jesus and reach other families and children in our workplaces, schools, and neighborhoods.

Partnership is Mosaic’s way of being committed, invested, and on mission together as a family.
The Partnership Class is a first step to hear the story of Mosaic, explore how to be a part of the vision and mission we share, and to ask questions about leadership, beliefs, and practices. If you are new to Mosaic or it’s been a while since you’ve become a partner, this is a great class to be a part of!
Lunch included with RSVP.
Sunday, November 21 | Mosaic
Every year, we take the Sunday before Thanksgiving to reflect on God’s faithfulness, celebrate his love and generosity, rejoice in new life through baptism, and express kindness to others in need. Be a part of the celebration!
This year, we will again be using this gathering to collect non-perishable food items that will be distributed to any in need in the Mosaic community and to our city through Northeast Emergency Food Program.

Saturday, December 24 | Mosaic
2:00 pm & 4:00 pm
On Christmas Eve we celebrate the culmination of a great story: A world in darkness has received the God-given light of salvation in Jesus! This holy night would change the course of all things, bringing comfort to the hopeless and the joy of relationship with our creator God — the one we were meant for all along.
Who can you invite to be a part of the celebration?
"Space for God" Retreat
October 21-23 | Alton Collins Retreat Center
Through guidance in contemplative practices and generous time for solitude and rest, a Space for God retreat provides space to slow down and be present with Jesus. It is designed to provide both spiritual and physical rest. Through the solitude and stillness, God will tend gently and carefully to you, providing exactly what you need.
November 27 – December 24
Each of us longs for the presence of Jesus, whether we can identify it or not. Throughout Scripture, we experience a God who gave everything to fulfill that longing: to be present with and in us.
The Advent season marks the four weeks before Christmas as a season of preparation and anticipation for celebrating the miracle of God present with us through the birth of Jesus. We step more fully into the experience of longing for God and embrace the wonder and mystery of him giving himself again and again to us.
This Advent, we’ll also seek to embody the dwelling presence of God through unique ways of serving and giving the presence of Jesus to our neighbors, city, and world.
Serving at Mosaic
As we follow Jesus with our lives, we get to bring our gifts, talents, and passions to contribute meaningfully in his kingdom and family. When we serve, we become more like Jesus and help the Mosaic community worship, connect, grow, and thrive!
