Serve Portland
We want to care for our city by meeting real needs in Portland with our creativity, people, and financial resources with no strings attached, but with the hope of making Jesus known. Currently, God has called Mosaic to engage in four areas of need in our city: Schools, Poverty, Anti-Trafficking & Foster Kids. Mosaic strives to be the hands & feet of Jesus by serving and seeking justice for people within these areas of need.
LOCAL PARTNERS
Mosaic works alongside the following local partners in these efforts:
Local Partners
»The Free Clothing Exchange: Founded by a group of Mosaic families nearly a decade ago, the FCE community exists to provide and share clothing resources with neighbors in North Portland and beyond. It is a free community event held every odd month at the Kenton Church on North Lombard Street. Everyone is welcome. All sizes of men’s, women’s, and children’s clothing are exchanged.
Due to space limitations, we only accept clothing donations during events. Check our website for specific clothing needs we may be in need of. www.freeclothingexchange.org
Poverty
» Portland Rescue Mission (Burnside Shelter & Shepherd’s Door): A Christ-centered organization that seeks to break the generational cycle of homelessness by offering emergency services and long-term recovery programs to homeless men, women, and children.
» Northwest Children’s Outreach: A faith-based non-profit organization that provides clothes, shoes, books, toys, and hygiene products to underprivileged children whose families are receiving family services from other service organizations. NCO is a volunteer-run organization that relies heavily on community support and involvement. In 2015, NCO provided services to 45,000 children through its six centers in the Portland Metropolitan and Vancouver areas.
